Microneedling is a non-invasive skin care procedure that uses a dermaroller with small needles to prick the skin. The small pricks in the skin promote collagen production to heal the skin. This results in healthier, smoother, and tighter skin all around. It can help diminish scars and blemishes anywhere on the body and is commonly used around the world.
Microneedling is considered a possible natural hair loss treatment. Research has shown that it can help reduce hair loss from alopecia. Microneedling is used in other treatments to stimulate collagen production which increases skin health. It is also thought that this process can help revitalize hair follicles and increase hair growth and volume. Microneedling also enhances the absorption of other hair loss treatments such as platelet-rich plasma and Rogaine. Procedures usually take 10 minutes or less depending on the treatment areas.
In most cases, you will see visible results after the first treatment. As treatments continue, significant results can often be seen after 5 to 7 visits. Since Microneedling is not an overly aggressive treatment, you may need to repeat visits within 2 to 3-month periods. If you are considering microneedling or any other skincare service, be sure to consult a SkinHealth Professional first to determine if the treatment you choose is right for you.

The FDA has approved Daxxify by Revance, a new injectable medicine for smoothing facial wrinkles in adults. Daxxify is in the same class of medicines as Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Jeuveau, but may be more effective in reducing wrinkles for longer periods of time. In clinical trials, 80% of participants had little or no visible facial wrinkles after four months of using Daxxify, and half still had little evidence of wrinkles after six months. Dermatologists believe Daxxify will change the market for neuromodulators.
Microneedling can be slightly painful in the “bony” areas of treatment, however, it is very bearable for most patients and only lasts briefly.
While the results are real, your skin is always changing meaning the results only last for a few months before you may need another treatment.
The recovery takes only 24 hours and during this time you can still go about your day as normal. Just avoid any acidic or other harsh facial treatments.
